JNCO Origins

Crafted by Master Jeanmakers. Adopted by a Generation.

1985–1993

For more than four decades, JNCO has blended exceptional denim craftsmanship with fearless creativity, building one of the most influential brands in streetwear history. From its roots in Los Angeles to a worldwide cultural phenomenon, this is the story of a brand that never followed the crowd.

The Streets Became the Studio

1985–1993

With years of denim craftsmanship already behind them, founder Milo Revah and his team looked beyond the factory walls for inspiration. As graffiti transformed downtown Los Angeles, they saw creativity where others saw vandalism. Rather than painting over the artists’ work, JNCO invited many of them inside, where they helped shape the brand’s unmistakable graphics, artwork, and visual identity. It wasn’t marketing—it was genuine collaboration, giving JNCO a voice unlike anything else in denim.

Designed for Creators

1985–1993

From the very beginning, JNCO designed for the people shaping culture—not the people following it. Heavyweight denim, oversized pockets, bold embroidery, and wide silhouettes weren’t created to chase trends; they solved real needs. Graffiti artists needed room for spray cans. Skaters wanted freedom of movement. Creators wanted clothing that reflected their individuality. Every detail was built with purpose, helping define a style that would soon become unmistakably JNCO.

When Wide Took Over

1994–2003

As fashion leaned toward convention, JNCO went the opposite direction. Bigger silhouettes, bolder graphics, and uncompromising design helped define an entirely new look. What started in Southern California quickly spread across the country, proving that individuality could be louder than conformity.

Skate. Rave. BMX. Beyond.

1994–2003

JNCO never belonged to just one scene. Skaters loved the freedom of movement, graffiti artists embraced the functionality, BMX riders wore them naturally, and the exploding rave scene made the oversized silhouettes part of its identity. Rather than marketing to subcultures, JNCO became part of them, earning a place in music, street culture, and youth movements around the world.

Shop Iconic Styles

From Underground to Everywhere

1994–2003

What began in Los Angeles quickly became a worldwide phenomenon. JNCO expanded from independent skate shops into major retailers, opened branded stores, partnered with distributors across Europe, Asia, and Latin America, and became one of the defining denim brands of the late 1990s. At its peak, the company generated approximately $187 million in annual sales, reaching millions of customers around the world while staying true to the culture that inspired it.

When Fashion Moved On

2004–2018

Fashion changed. Slimmer silhouettes replaced oversized fits, and much of the industry moved in a different direction. Like many iconic brands before it, JNCO stepped out of the spotlight, but the values that built the brand never disappeared.

The Legend Never Left

2004–2018

Even without new collections, JNCO never truly disappeared. Original pairs became highly sought-after collectibles, resale prices climbed, and a loyal community kept the brand alive while a new generation discovered it through vintage culture. Millions of pairs remained in closets around the world, quietly proving that authentic icons outlast trends.

Waiting for the Right Time

2004–2018

Rather than rushing back, JNCO waited. While fashion continued to evolve, the brand remained part of streetwear history, remembered by one generation and rediscovered by another. When authenticity, craftsmanship, and oversized silhouettes returned, JNCO was ready to write its next chapter.

The Family Returns

2019–Present

More than three decades after founding JNCO, Milo Revah reunited with the brand alongside his daughter, Camilla. Together, they didn’t set out to recreate the past—they set out to continue the story, combining the values that built JNCO with a vision for a new generation.

Built Again, Not Reissued

2019–Present

Today’s JNCO is a continuation, not a replica. Classic silhouettes return alongside new designs, refined materials, improved construction, and modern craftsmanship. The attitude remains unchanged, but every collection is built to a higher standard than ever before.

The Next Generation

2019–Present

Today, JNCO is worn by those who remember the original era and by a new generation discovering it through fashion, skateboarding, music, and vintage culture. More than forty years after it began, the same principles still guide every collection: exceptional craftsmanship, fearless creativity, and the confidence to stand apart. But what has never changed is the feeling. There’s something different about putting on a pair of JNCOs—the weight of the denim, the movement, the confidence, the unmistakable silhouette. They don’t ask you to fit in. They remind you that you never wanted to. The next chapter begins with what you wear.
